1/10/2011 Abbotsford Police are heading up the investigation into the conduct of a Kelowna RCMP officer, caught on tape kicking a suspect. Kelowna RCMP Superintendent Bill McKinnon says he has watched the video...he says he is shocked and disappoined but there are processes that are in place to look after these types of situations and those are all being implemented. A Facebook group is demanding that Constable Geoff Mantler be charged with assault. A cell phone video shows Mantler kicking a suspect in the face near a Kelowna golf course, despite the fact the man was already on his hands and knees. The officer is currently on desk duty, pending a decision out of E-division sometime today. |
